Dizzy Dean says “All you people look alike to me”

and think alike, and are white, and Christians:

Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean, unapologetic in the face of recent criticism that he has been too tough on his political opposition, said in San Francisco this week that Republicans are “a pretty monolithic party. They all behave the same. They all look the same. It’s pretty much a white Christian party.”

Can you imagine the Chairman of the RNC saying, “Those Democrats all look alike. They all act alike. It’s pretty much just blacks and atheists.”? Of course not. It’s inconceivable. Republicans just don’t go around engaging in open, blatant hate speech like that. They can’t get away with it; no one should be able to get away with it. But Dean will, because the mainstream press is on his side, and the Democrats must divide by race to have any chance of winning an election.

Dean is a Rove plant, right?

(Update: Professor Bainbridge asks the same question)

Captain’s Quarters and JustOneMinute have more.

Update: Dean defended his comments on Good Morning America Wednesday morning. Trey Jackson has the video.
