From the Los Angeles Times:
Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean said Friday that his party would wield the Terri Schiavo case against Republicans in the 2006 and 2008 elections, but for now needed to stay focused battling President Bush on Social Security.
But wait, we thought the Democrats were against using the issue for political purposes??? How can this be?
Remember when the MSM jumped all over that "talking points" memo from a member of Senator Mel Martinez' staff, and how the Democrats were so horrified that the Republicans would dare politicize the issue? The gall of these people with their blatant double standards is just incredible.
We'd welcome the opportunity in a campaign to defend the position that we ought to err on the side of life, were we crazy enough to run for office in the first place.
To quote another failed Democratic candidate, "Bring It On!"
Update: John at Powerline agrees. He doesn't think it will be on the radar by 2006 though. Probably true.
Update: Professor Bainbridge agrees too.
