"Tookie" Williams' last day

Stanley "Tookie" Williams is scheduled to be executed at 12:01 am for the brutal murders of four people, unless California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger grants clemency today.

Williams' supporters are making some twisted arguments, along the lines of "he maintains his claim of innocence, but he should be spared because he has redeemed himself" forgetting or ignoring that confession is the first step on the road to redemption.

Michelle Malkin
and CA Conservative are on the case. We just hope the governor does the right thing.

Update: The governor has denied clemency. Looks like justice will finally prevail.

Here is the governor's statement. (pdf)
