Jihad hits London

We started to title this post "Terror in London" but that sounded too much like the aim of the attack - to terrorize the people of London - had worked. But we expect the people who withstood the Blitz will stand strong in the face of this pathetic attack. There will be no terror in London.

Of course, the attack is horrible for those killed and injured, and our prayers go out to them. But look at what pathetic losers the attackers are. They've attacked the defenseless - people riding to work, tourists, men, women, children. It's the polar opposite of anything brave, or honorable. These are the lowest form of scum on Earth, complete losers.

There's really nothing more we can say about the attack, here's British Prime Minister Tony Blair:

It is particularly barbaric that this has happened on a day when people are meeting to try to help the problems of poverty in Africa, and the long term problems of climate change and the environment. Just as it is reasonably clear that this is a terrorist attack, or a series of terrorist attacks, it is also reasonably clear that it is designed and aimed to coincide with the opening of the G8. There will be time to talk later about this.

It is important however that those engaged in terrorism realise that our determination to defend our values and our way of life is greater than their determination to cause death and destruction to innocent people in a desire to impose extremism on the world. Whatever they do, it is our determination that they will never succeed in destroying what we hold dear in this country and in other civilised nations throughout the world.

And from President Bush:

"The contrast couldn't be clearer between the intentions and the hearts of those of us who care deeply about human rights and human liberty, and those who kill, those who've got such evil in their heart that they will take the lives of innocent folks."

"The war on terror goes on."

Much more blog reaction from Mudville Gazette, Michelle Malkin, Captain's Quarters, Chrenkoff, lots of links from Instapundit, Atlas at Jackson's Junction reminds us who we're fighting, The Jawa Report has a detailed piece up, more from Wizbang, and of course The Corner has ongoing news and analysis.

We won't try to keep up with the reporting, up to the minute reports will be all over every news site on the Web. Comments are open.
